As part of the well-organized, technology-based and professional preparatory activities undertaken by Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force nationwide to ensure a free, fair and peaceful election ahead of the 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum-2026,

an important election preparatory rally was held in Bogra district on Friday, February 6, 2026.

Through this rally, the overall picture of the force’s election preparations, policy position and clear guidelines for its members were presented.
In addition to the direct presence in Bogra, members of the election-related responsibilities of Rangpur, Dinajpur and Nilphamari districts were also involved in the rally through a giant screen. The force’s Director General, Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud, was present as the chief guest at the event and gave a guiding speech on ensuring the force’s readiness, professionalism and impartiality in carrying out its election responsibilities.

In his speech, the Director General called on all members to remain firmly committed to properly fulfilling the responsibilities assigned by the state. He said, “Everyone must be committed to protecting the dignity of the national flag and the flag of the force; it is possible to keep the country’s trust, national flag and the honor of the force intact only by performing their duties in their respective areas with professionalism.”

He further mentioned that some quarters are intentionally spreading misleading propaganda regarding ‘election engineering’ and misuse of the force. He expressed his opinion that mutual cooperation, unity and patriotism are essential to counter these misdeeds. He specifically mentioned that honesty, firm commitment and professionalism are the most effective answers against such propaganda.

The evil circle that has tarnished the Ansar Bahini through the money of ordinary poor professionals who helped in irregularities by excluding trained members in the last few elections, today the expelled skilled people are trying to question all the digital arrangements for youth-based, fair and beautiful elections under the guise of political cover.
The Director General highlighted the long-standing hard work and dedication of the members of the Bahini in conducting election activities through AVMIS and STDMS software and said that all initiatives to re-establish the old settlement of all their previous irregularities by questioning this program have been boycotted with hatred by the representatives of the 2.5 lakh newly trained young members of the Ansar VDP who came to the rally. At the same time, he said that the Bahini has already completed the coordination at the marginal level to ensure that the allowance of the members performing their duties is paid through automation at the right time through the STDMS software as per the prescribed plan.
He further said, “Along with fulfilling electoral duties, the Bahini is also giving equal importance to the welfare and protection of the fundamental rights of the members.” To this end, the Ansar-VDP Welfare Trust has been further strengthened and initiatives have been taken to involve members in foreign employment through Japanese language training. He also expressed hope that in the future, the trust and relationship between the force and the grassroots community will be further strengthened by implementing more multifaceted welfare-oriented programs.

In his closing speech at the rally, the Director General expressed hope that in the future, Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force will set a unique example in performing state duties with professionalism, impartiality and honesty. It will be possible to provide a fair, free and impartial election with the united efforts of the members and the spirit of patriotism. It was strongly hoped that these preparatory activities would not only ensure security and discipline during the election period, but would also strengthen public trust in the country’s democratic process and have a far-reaching positive impact on preserving national stability and security.
