Top terrorist Ratan arrested in Bogura
In a special operation of RAB-12 CPSC in Bogura, top terrorist Md. Ratan (33) involved in extortion and terrorist activities has been arrested. According to RAB sources, on January 31, at around 7:30 pm, Ratan and some unknown persons demanded extortion money with sharp knives at the TR Travel counter in Thanthania Coach Terminal area of Bogura city.
For delaying payment, the counter’s booking master Md. Raich Uddin (45) was seriously injured in various parts of his body by beating, punching and kicking him.
When local people came forward during the incident, the accused managed to escape. Later, Md. Azadul Haque Ujjal (49) filed a case with Bogura Sadar Police Station as the plaintiff.
In the case, Md. Ratan was mentioned as the 2nd absconding accused in the complaint. Following the request of the investigating officer of the case, RAB-12 CPSC, Bogura intensified the detective activities to arrest the accused.
Based on secret information, it was learned that the absconding accused Ratan is staying in the Maltinagar area of Bogura city. Based on the said information, on the direction of the RAB-12 captain, a smart team of CPSC Bogura, RAB-12 conducted a raid in the Maltinagar area on Wednesday night at around 7:30 pm.
During the raid, the 2nd absconding accused in the complaint of the extortion case, Md. Ratan (33), father Md. A. Hannan, resident of Maltinagar, Thana-Bogura Sadar, District-Bogura, was arrested along with a button mobile and a SIM card. The arrested accused has been handed over to Bogura Sadar Police Station for further legal action.
