On February 3, 2026, the election preparatory meeting of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force was held in Moulvibazar district in view of the upcoming national elections.

Additional Director General Brigadier General Mamunur Rashid was present as the chief guest at the meeting.

In his speech, he highlighted the force’s long-term preparation for the elections, modern training system, technology-based management and integrated security strategy, and the force’s responsible role and commitment to free, fair and peaceful elections.

In his speech, the Additional Director General said that the members participating in today’s election preparatory meeting have passed various preparations and screening processes that have been going on for the past one and a half years.

All preparations have been completed by formulating a timely training curriculum, successfully completing the training, including the force’s AVMIS software and, above all, prioritizing young people to perform their duties during the election period.

He mentioned that as part of the future plan, the necessary reserve members have also been kept ready to assist the on-duty members.

He further said that a total of 13 members will be assigned to specific duties in each polling station. 3 armed members will be assigned to more important polling stations, and 2 male members will be assigned to important and general polling stations with weapons.

In addition, two members have been specifically assigned as End Users or first responders in the electoral security software, so that quick and coordinated and effective measures can be taken in the event of any unwanted incident or accident at the polling station.

It is worth noting that a total of 7,202 Ansar and VDP members will be assigned to ensure electoral security and maintain overall law and order in 554 polling stations in Moulvibazar district.

The 13 members assigned to each polling station can work as a well-organized team by gaining a clear understanding of the distribution of responsibilities, mutual coordination, and instructions given by the force before performing their duties at the polling station—for this purpose, today’s election preparatory rally has been organized.

The Additional Director General expressed his strong hope that every member of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force will perform their duties with professionalism, political neutrality, and utmost honesty in performing their electoral duties.

He said that the sense of discipline, responsibility, and respect for the law of Ansar and VDP members is very important to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful election.

He urged them to follow the instructions given by the force properly without succumbing to any kind of pressure or temptation while performing their duties.
