No chaos will be tolerated in elections and referendum: Cox’s Bazar Deputy Commissioner

The administration and law enforcement agencies will work together to ensure that the 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum-2026 are free, fair and peaceful, said Cox’s Bazar Deputy Commissioner Mr. Md. A. Mannan.

Speaking at a view-sharing meeting organized with the Law Enforcement Cell in Cox’s Bazar district on Thursday (January 29), the chairman said, “No opportunity will be given to any kind of chaos, sabotage or violation of the law around the elections and referendum. Our main goal is to ensure the smooth voting rights of the people.”
The meeting, chaired by the Deputy Commissioner, was attended by Chittagong Division Commissioner Dr. Md. Zia Uddin as the chief guest. Chittagong Range DIG (Promoted to Additional IGP) BPM Mr. Md. Ahsan Habib Palash was present as a special guest. Cox’s Bazar District Superintendent of Police Mr. A.N.M. Sajedur Rahman participated in the meeting.

In the chairman’s speech, the Deputy Commissioner also said, “The administration will be on the highest alert to ensure security at polling stations, prevent rumors and control the law and order situation during the election. We are determined to implement the Election Commission’s instructions 100 percent.”

The meeting discussed in detail the potential risks surrounding the election, polling station-based security measures, strengthening integrated patrols and ensuring quick response. The speakers said that the law and order forces will play a neutral and professional role to protect the trust of the people and everyone will work together to provide an acceptable election. Senior officials of the district administration, police and various law and order forces were present in the meeting.
