Journalists exchange views with Mufti Shuaib Ibrahim, candidate of the 10-party electoral alliance in Gopalganj-2 constituency
A meeting of journalists was held with Mufti Shuaib Ibrahim, candidate of the 10-party electoral alliance in Gopalganj-2 constituency.
On the occasion of the 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum-2026 to be held on February 12, Mufti Shuaib Ibrahim, the candidate of the Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis nominated by the 10-party electoral alliance, held a meeting with journalists.
The meeting was held at the district head office of the Khelafat Majlis adjacent to the BSCIC in the city at 12 noon on Monday (January 26).
In his written speech at the meeting, Mufti Shuaib Ibrahim said in his election manifesto,
1. Education Development: “Gopalganj-2 will be a pioneer in education – school-college development projects, building renovation and ensuring modern educational materials in every union. Formation of scholarship and financial assistance fund for talented helpless students. Ensuring digital education by establishing smart classrooms and ICT training centers. Safe environment, transportation system and improved sanitation system to increase female education rate. Improvement of quality of general and madrasa education and introduction of ethics-based integrated education system.
2. Employment and skill development: Improvement of quality of “Work in the hands of youth, smile on the face of the family” technical training center and taking appropriate measures for extensive training. (IT, electrical, automobile, garments etc.).
SME initiatives – training for small businesses, interest-free loans and marketing support. Formation of startup support fund to create young entrepreneurs. Home-based employment and skill development programs for women. Agriculture-based entrepreneurs – poultry, fisheries, dairy and food Providing assistance in processing.
3. Agriculture and Farmer Development: “Prosperity in the Farmer’s Home: Making the services of the Agriculture Department transparent and accountable. Increasing production by improving irrigation, canal re-excavation and water management. Modernization of agricultural procurement centers, cold storage and marketing systems. Strict supervision to ensure pesticide-free fertilizers, seeds and pesticides. Farmer training in agricultural machinery, leasing system and mechanization. Agri Extension Support Team to disseminate new technologies.
4. Healthcare: “Available and humane treatment for all: 24-hour emergency services at the Upazila Health Complex, ensuring the presence of specialist doctors. Providing adequate medicines, maternal health services and trained staff in every community clinic, establishing an ambulance network to provide prompt treatment to the people of the village. Providing low-cost healthcare cards to low-income people.
5. Infrastructure and public services: Planned development of roads, bridges-culverts, dressage systems in villages and towns, providing safe water, electricity and internet to every family. Construction of markets, playgrounds, community centers and youth centers. Expansion of modern urbanization and environmentally friendly sustainable public services.
6. Good governance and corruption-free administration: Free online public service desk to facilitate land, agricultural services, allowances, etc. Adopting a zero-tolerance policy against corruption. Citizen opinion-based development planning and demographic monitoring committee
7. Social development and humanitarian assistance: Development of mosques-madrasas, Eidgahs, cemeteries and places of worship.
Increased assistance for the elderly, disabled and helpless people.
Programs for sports, cultural practice and moral development of youth. Integrated initiatives to prevent militancy, drugs and social degradation.
8. Peace and harmony initiatives to stop sectarian conflict, violence and bloodshed: A long-standing cancer of Gopalganj-2 – sectarian fights, quarrels and murders. Such unrest delays our development. Hence my main commitment.
9. Formation of “Harmony Forum”: Formation of harmony and brotherhood forums in every union with teachers, scholars-ulama, dignitaries and youth. Pre-conciliation board, conciliation board at police station and union level – so that small disputes do not turn into big conflicts. Connecting education and youth to the path of harmony. Awareness of peace, tolerance and morality in schools. Sports, debates, cultural events – keeping the youth engaged in a positive way. Role of religious and social leaders, conducting peace and harmony campaign weeks in each area. “Gopalganj-2 Agreement of Love, Declaration of Peace and Brotherhood with the People at the Upazila Level after Victory. 10. Ensuring the rights, dignity and security of minority communities: In the eyes of Islam, a non-Muslim will have the same amount of security as a Muslim citizen in an Islamic state. Equal rights, security and dignity of citizens of all religions and communities living in Gopalganj-2 will be ensured, InshaAllah. Administrative coordination to ensure the security of minority families, places of worship and property. Providing full cooperation in the observance of religious freedom and festivals. Acceptance and redressal of complaints of discrimination and oppression promptly.
