15 platoon members will be deployed in Chapainawabganj: Colonel Mostafizur Rahman

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has taken extensive security measures in Chapainawabganj 53 BGB to ensure that the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections are conducted peacefully, fairly and impartially.

53 BGB Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Kazi Mostafizur Rahman, Monday gave this information at a press briefing organized at the Chapainawabganj 53 BGB Battalion headquarters in the afternoon. He said that a total of 15 platoons of BGB will be deployed in important border and interior areas of the district.

He said that as part of the election-time deployment, a total of 11 platoons including Shibganj Upazila-3 Platoon of Chapainawabganj-1, Bholahat-4 Platoon, Nachol-2 Platoon and Gomostapur-2 Platoon of Chapainawabganj-2 will be deployed by Mahananda Battalion (59 BGB) in 3 constituencies of Chapainawabganj district, and 04 platoons (including 1 platoon reserve) in Chapainawabganj Sadar Upazila of Chapainawabganj-3 by Chapainawabganj Battalion (53 BGB), a total of 15 platoons of BGB members will be deployed.

He further said that patrolling has been intensified in the border areas of the district in view of the elections in Chapainawabganj and special surveillance is underway to prevent smuggling, illegal infiltration, drug and arms trafficking. During the election, the BGB will perform its duties with professionalism, impartiality and utmost honesty.

Work is being done in coordination with the law enforcement agencies and the administration so that every voter can exercise their right to vote in an environment free from fear and obstruction.

As part of the election-time deployment, a total of 15 platoons of BGB members from Mahananda 59-BGB and 53-BGB will perform their duties in three constituencies of the district.

The press briefing also informed that additional check posts have been set up in the bordering upazilas and risky areas of the district, mobile and static patrols have been increased, intelligence activities have been strengthened, and a quick response force (Quick Response Force) has been kept ready. The BGB is always ready to deal with any unforeseen situation.

The BGB captain expressed optimism that with the joint efforts of everyone, the national parliament elections in Chapainawabganj will be held in a peaceful and festive atmosphere.

The BGB will continue to fulfill its duties in light of the constitution and law, giving utmost importance to the trust and confidence of the people of the country.
