Keeping the thirteenth election in view, Tarique Rahman, the centerpiece of this huge rally, gave several guidelines and clear indications of what he would do if he came to power in the future.

At one point in his speech, Tarique Rahman said, “This is Chittagong where people from the hills and people from the plains live together. It doesn’t matter who is a Muslim or a person of any other religion here, the main thing is that we all want to be united.

In the part about future plans, he spoke strongly—
“A criminal is not identified by any party, but in the eyes of the law, a criminal is a criminal. Whoever the criminal is, the criminal will be tried according to the laws of the country.”

“Action will be taken against whoever commits corruption according to the prevailing laws of the country. He called the people of Chittagong as witnesses and said that no concession will be given to those who commit corruption, Inshallah”.

In the middle of his speech, BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman said, “Only BNP has proven those two things.” He said that during the previous Khaledazia’s regime, you saw that BNP did not even give concessions to its own people.”

He emphasized another issue in his speech, which is the security of the people. He said that people should be given security to do their work, to do business, and if they come to power in the future, the security of the common people will be given the highest priority.
