“No irregularities or chaos will be tolerated in the elections” – Superintendent of Police A.N.M. Sajedur Rahman

The law enforcement agencies are on the highest alert to conduct the referendum and the 13th National Parliament elections in a free, fair and impartial manner, said the Superintendent of Police of Cox’s Bazar, A.N.M. Sajedur Rahman.

He said, “Any attempt to create irregularities, violence or chaos related to the elections will be dealt with sternly. The police administration has made all-out preparations so that voters can exercise their right to vote in a fearless and festive atmosphere.”

He said these things as a special guest at the “Briefing of Polling Officers on the Occasion of the Referendum and the 13th National Parliament Elections” program organized by the Upazila Election Office, Pekua, Cox’s Bazar on January 25, 2026 at the Pekua Government Model GMC Institution.

The chief guest at the event was Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Md. Abdul Mannan. In addition, District Election Officer Md. Aziz was present as a special guest.

The Presiding Officer, Assistant Presiding Officer and Polling Officers in charge of various polling stations in Pekua Upazila participated in the event. The briefing discussed in detail the election code of conduct, voting process, distribution of responsibilities, measures to maintain law and order, and strategies to deal with emergency situations.

In his speech, the Superintendent of Police emphasized the coordination of law and order forces with polling officers. After the briefing, the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police visited various polling stations under Pekua Police Station.

During the inspection, the security arrangements of the polling stations, infrastructural preparations, CCTV and security management, the preparation of the officials engaged in polling, and the overall environment were observed on the spot.

During this time, they exchanged views with the local people and relevant officials and provided necessary guidance to ensure that the elections were conducted peacefully, acceptably, and impartially.
