The burial of freedom fighter Abdul Malek has been completed in Sreemangal with a guard of honor.

On Sunday (January 25) at 12:30 pm, Sreemangal Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Md. Islam Uddin provided a guard of honor to the coffin of the deceased on behalf of the state.

Earlier, his funeral was held at the Baitul Aman Jame Mosque premises on Kalighat Road of Sreemangal Municipality after Zuhr.

People from different classes and professions, freedom fighters, public representatives and local dignitaries participated in the funeral.

After the state formalities, the late freedom fighter Abdul Malek was buried in the family graveyard on Kalighat Road.

The deceased’s eldest son, Mosharraf Hossain Khaled, an office assistant at Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital, said that his father, freedom fighter Abdul Malek, passed away at Apollo Hospital in Moulvibazar at 9 pm on Saturday (January 24) (Inna lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun). The death of the deceased has cast a shadow of mourning over the area.
