Ahead of the upcoming national parliament elections, a huge mass procession was held in Boalkhali in support of Dr. Abu Naser, candidate for the scales symbol of Chittagong-8 constituency. People from all walks of life participated in the program, expressing their firm determination not to leave the electoral field.

On Saturday (January 24) afternoon, the procession circled the main roads of the municipality under the banner of ‘People of all walks of life in Boalkhali’. The participants in the procession raised various slogans in favor of the scales symbol and called for the establishment of voting rights.

Md. Nazim Uddin Reza, Mostaq Ahmed, Azizul Haque, Nasir Uddin, Md. Shamsuddin, Taslima Jinnat, Shamim Akhter Chowdhury, Fahmida Arefin Ila, Taslima Sultana, Minu Akhter and other leaders of various classes and professions and common people. After the procession, a short rally was held at the Upazila Central Shaheed Minar square.

The speakers at the rally said that they will be on the field until the last moment in this movement to establish the rights of the people. No intimidation, obstacles or conspiracies will be able to divert them from this just movement.

The speakers also said that there is no alternative to honest, competent and Allah-fearing leadership in Chittagong-8 constituency. Dr. Abu Nasher is the symbol of that ideal leadership. That is why the people have spontaneously taken to the streets in his support. The rally called for continuing the election campaign peacefully and remaining united until the voting day. The program ended in a peaceful atmosphere.
