A housewife named Momena Begum (42) was killed by miscreants who came to steal from a house in Fakirhat upazila of Bagerhat district. The incident took place in the Madhya Bahirdia area of ​​Bahirdia-Mansa union of the upazila.

The deceased housewife is the wife of prominent businessman Billal Khan of Madhya Bahirdia area.
On the night of the incident, the deceased’s husband Billal Khan filed a murder case with the police station as the plaintiff and an unknown accused.

Police and locals said that on Wednesday (January 21) at around 10 pm, Billal Khan returned home from his business establishment in Mansa Bazar. When he entered the house, he found his wife lying dead inside the house.

Upon receiving the information, a police team including SI Ohidul Haque, in-charge of Bahirdia Police Camp, visited the scene. Later, after preparing the initial postmortem report of the body, they recovered the body. After preparing the initial postmortem report, SI Ohidul Haque said that there were multiple injury marks on the body’s face. In addition, injury marks were also seen below the ear.

Initially, it is believed that she may have been killed by being stabbed, punched and strangled with a scarf. He said that the housewife may have been killed because she recognized the thief.

The deceased’s husband, Billal Khan, said that he came home from the shop and found his wife lying dead inside the house. His wife was alone at home at the time of the incident. The miscreants killed his wife and stole 23,000 taka in cash, two gold rings and a pair of earrings from the house.

Fakirhat Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Saiful Islam said that the body was recovered from the scene and sent to the Bagerhat Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. The body will be handed over to the family after completing the legal process. The deceased’s husband, Billal Khan, filed a murder case against an unknown accused at the police station that night. A drive to arrest those involved in the incident is underway. The case is currently under investigation.
