Army Chief visits Chittagong and Comilla areas and holds meeting on the occasion of the 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum-2026
Thursday 22 January 2026), Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman, visited Chittagong and Comilla areas to assess the overall law and order situation and inspect the army personnel deployed under the ‘In Aid to the Civil Power’ on the occasion of the upcoming 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum-2026.
During the visit, the Army Chief observed the activities of the army personnel deployed in Chittagong and Comilla on the spot, provided necessary directions and exchanged views with the civilian administration.
Army Chief exchanged views with senior military officers, divisional commissioners, law enforcement officers and civil administration officials of various districts at the Chittagong Circuit House and later, a similar exchange of views was held at the conference room of the Comilla District Administration. During the exchange of views, inter-institutional coordination and overall security management were discussed with a view to conducting the upcoming National Assembly elections peacefully, impartially and fairly. Army Chief laid special emphasis on discharging his duties through professionalism, impartiality, discipline, patience and citizen-friendly behavior.
During the visit to Chittagong and Comilla areas, General Officer Commanding, Army Training and Doctrine Command; Commandant, EBRC; Adjutant General; The GOC, 33 Infantry Division and Area Commander, Comilla Area and Army Headquarters, Chittagong and Comilla Areas, along with senior military officers, divisional commissioners and senior officers of the civil administration, and representatives of various media outlets were present.
