Khulna District Civil Surgeon Dr. Mrs. Mahfuza Khatun made a surprise visit to Paikgacha Upazila Health Complex, various clinics and diagnostic centers to ensure quality of healthcare, round-the-clock service, presence of doctors and nurses and on-site monitoring of patients’ condition in Upazila Health Complex, private clinics and diagnostic centers, increase transparency and accountability of the healthcare system and play an important role in public health development.

He suddenly entered the health complex at around 10:30 am on Wednesday, January 21 and inspected various wards and inquired about the medical services and food provided to the admitted patients.

Then he inspected various activities including the emergency department, operation theater, maternity ward. He had a frank conversation with the admitted patients about health services.

At that time, when the patients and their relatives, as well as the doctors of the hospital, demanded an increase in doctors and manpower as per the demand, he assured to solve the problem quickly. He also inquired about the doctors, nurses, SECMO and employees.

Expressing satisfaction with the presence of the doctors, SECMO and nurses of the hospital, cleanliness, quality of service and overall issues, he gave instructions to maintain its continuity and increase the quality of service.

He gave instructions to provide sincere service to the patients in the hospital free of charge, just as every doctor sees patients in a private chamber, and to listen to the patients carefully, and to keep various life-saving medicines including gastric and heart injections, saline in the emergency department.

He gave instructions to submit a list of the hospital’s useless equipment, including ultrasonograms, X-ray machines, dental chairs, and other problems to his office as soon as possible.

He assured to take necessary steps to solve the shortage of manpower in the hospital and other problems as soon as possible. Later, he visited various clinics and diagnostic centers in the Upazila Sadar.

At this time, Upazila Health Complex Family Planning Officer Dr. Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Junior Consultant Gynaecologist Dr. Sujan Kumar Sarkar, RMO Dr. Sanjay Kumar Mondal, Senior Staff Nurse Mousumi Fauzdari, Utthala Rani Mondal, Jayanti Roy, Shamima Sultana and many others were present.
