BNP Chairman’s advisor and BNP’s nominated candidate for Barisal-1 (Gouranadi-Agailjhara) constituency in the 13th National Parliament election, former MP M. Zahir Uddin Swapan said, we want the future generation of citizens of the country to have the likes of martyred President Ziaur Rahman, the likes of national leader Begum Khaleda Zia.

He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the children and youth competition held at the central Shaheed Minar square in Gouranadi upazila of Barisal on Monday at 10 am. Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Samajik Sangstriktika Sangstha (JASAS) organized the painting exhibition and competition at the Government Gournadi University College branch of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal.

The subjects of the painting exhibition and competition were: rice ears, map of Bangladesh, national flag, national symbol, 1971 Liberation War, July Genocide, rural nature of Bangladesh. While addressing the young children participating in the painting exhibition and competition, he also said, when you grow up and read the history of the birth and death of martyr President Ziaur Rahman, you will know that a person can make such a great contribution to the country and the nation in such a short life.

Considering his age, he did not have the opportunity to reach 50 years. He left this world before that. He had to leave at the age of only 46-47. You will have to know from our history the immense contribution he made to the country and the nation in such a short life. The history of this colorful life of Shaheed Zia should be told to children in a way that they can also know and understand.

I would request and advise the leaders of Chhatra Dal and JASAS that you should not organize programs just to show your pictures on Facebook. Today’s event, which you are organizing, is mainly for children. You have organized a program that children can understand. Thank you for that. You will increase the organization of such programs.
