Chittagong City Corporation has restored the beauty of the Chittagong Divisional Passport Office located in Monsurabad.

An investigative report by TMG directly shows that miscreants have been engaging in various secret trades here, including footpath encroachment, although the government’s image has been tarnished among foreigners. The local administration has been completely silent on this issue.

The reason behind this silent role may be regular monthly or daily benefit  (Masoara).
Although several attempts were made to contact the director of the passport office on his mobile phone to find out about this, he could not be contacted.

The investigation revealed that several powerful encroachments in monsurabad have become reckless since August 5, 2024. They have created a very strong extortion group. This group regularly extorts by setting up shops on the road.

Occupying footpaths, illegally parking trucks at night, and regularly supplying drugs by setting up nominal shops. Many of the locals admitted the matter, but did not agree to give any statement in front of the camera.

However, after checking the CCTV footage, several names of people from “Monsurabad Bai Golli” who are seen regularly visiting here have emerged. Those who have been claiming to be the new BNP after August 5.

However, those who have been with the ideological politics of BNP for a long time have not agreed to comment on this matter.

When these issues came to the attention of the City Corporation, the Magistrate of the City Corporation, Chaiti Rani Sarvavidya, immediately took action. The local civil society commented that the Chittagong Divisional Passport Office was restored to its beauty by conducting an eviction drive on January 18, 2026.

CCC authorities said that all types of construction on the roads and sidewalks of the City Corporation are illegal. If there is any work in the public interest on the roads and sidewalks of the City Corporation, it will be demolished.

However, secret sources say that after a few days they will build the structures again, they will manage everything.
