DB police have arrested Md. Nizam Yar Khan, president of the Atpara Upazila branch of the district’s Awami Jubo League.
Md. Nizam served as the former president of the Atpara Upazila branch of the Chhatra League.
On Tuesday (January 13), around 7 pm, Netrakona District Detective Branch (DB) Police (East) Officer-in-Charge (OC) Muhammad Tariqul Islam confirmed the arrest.
He said that Md. Nizam Yar Khan was arrested from Atpara Upazila town on Tuesday evening in connection with a case filed with Atpara Police Station after the 2024 change of heart.
OC Muhammad Tariqul Islam said that the arrested Jubo League leader was handed over to the Netrakona District Court on Wednesday morning. The police will continue to monitor such cases regularly.
