Injured leopard rescued in Netrakona
The District Forest Department has rescued an injured leopard from Satershri Bazar in Sadar Upazila. At night, locals saw a leopard lying injured on the side of the road and informed the Forest Department. Later, around 11 pm, a team from the Forest Department came and rescued the leopard and took it to the office.
The local Forest Department said that the rescued leopard is about three feet long and one and a half feet high.
It looks a lot like a leopard, which created panic among the locals. Officials believe that the leopard was injured after being hit by a car at night and is lying on the side of the road.
Upon receiving the information, Forest Department officials rescued the injured leopard (the leopard) and gave it treatment under the supervision of the District Veterinary Hospital this Sunday.
When contacted, Netrokona Forest Department Officer-in-Charge Md. Jasim Uddin Elahi admitted that the endangered Gandhabkul was rescued in an injured condition and said, “A Gandhabkul (Mecho Tiger) has been rescued in an injured condition from Satershri Bazar in Sadar Upazila.
The injured Mecho Tiger is being given necessary treatment. Once it recovers, it will be released into the forest.”
