Two-day speech festival concludes in Sreemangal

The first-ever two-day speech festival held in Sreemangal, Moulvibazar, has concluded successfully.

The festival was declared over with a Barwari debate as part of the second day’s activities at the Sreemangal Udayan Balika Vidyalaya premises on Saturday afternoon.

The second day of the festival included self-selected recitation, classical dance, Nazrul Sangeet, folk songs, live acting, spelling expert and Barwari debate competitions.

Earlier, on Friday morning, Assistant Professor Jolly Pal of Dwarikapal Women’s College inaugurated the festival.

Organized by ‘Sreemangal Navajagaran Dal’, the festival featured various competitions and workshops with the participation of students. The formal activities of the festival began with the national anthem and patriotic songs.

The event was moderated by Ullas Debnath, a member of the organization, and the festival convener, Ajey Das Barshan, delivered a welcome speech.

The event was attended by the festival’s media partner, the festival’s media partner, Dainik Ittefaq’s Srimangal correspondent Syed Sayed Ahmed, playwright Govinda Roy Suman, reciter Bikash Das Bappan, dancer Saju Dev, musicians Sajal Ghosh, Shivam Bhattacharya, Karunamoy Das, Prayukta Bhattacharya and Amit Sarkar as guests.

The first day of the festival included scheduled recitations, folk dances, Rabindra Sangeet and patriotic songs, speeches, serial storytelling and news presentations.
