In Joypurhat BGB distributes winter clothes, provides free medical care
The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) distributed winter clothing among 300 cold-stricken people and provided free medical services in Joypurhat today.
The humanitarian initiative, organized by the Joypurhat-20 BGB battalion, took place on Saturday at Kashiabari High School grounds in Joypurhat town.
Colonel Faisal Hasan Khan, BGB Sector Commander, attended the event as the chief guest. During the distribution, he emphasized that BGB’s role extends beyond national security.
“Alongside protecting the borders, preventing smuggling, and maintaining law and order, the BGB regularly carries out public welfare activities. Standing by the common people during times of distress is an ongoing responsibility of the BGB. Such humanitarian efforts will continue in future,” the Sector Commander stated.
The medical camp provided free consultations and essential medicines to destitutes who have been struggling with the intensified winter chill. Beneficiaries expressed their deep gratitude and relief upon receiving the much-needed support.
Also present at the event were Lieutenant Col Mohammad Latiful Bari, Commanding Officer of Joypurhat-20 BGB, Sector Medical Officer Captain Mahdi Zaman, and several local dignitaries. The initiative is part of BGB’s nationwide effort to support vulnerable communities during the peak of the winter season.
