Coast Guard operation in Maheshkhali arrests robber, rescues 9 fishermen

A robber has been arrested in a Bangladesh Coast Guard operation in Maheshkhali, Cox’s Bazar and 9 fishermen have been rescued alive from the clutches of the robbers.
Coast Guard sources said that a fishing trawler named ‘FB Allah Dan’ was robbed in the Paraban channel adjacent to Baradia under Maheshkhali police station at around 4 pm on Monday (January 5).
Later, the matter was reported to the Bangladesh Coast Guard through emergency service number 16111.
Upon receiving the information, the Coast Guard Station Maheshkhali quickly conducted a rescue operation.
During the operation, 9 fishermen who were in the clutches of the robbers were rescued alive and one robber was arrested from the scene.
The arrested robber and the boat used for the robbery have been handed over to Maheshkhali police station for further legal action.
In this regard, Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq said, “Bangladesh Coast Guard is conducting regular patrols and operations to ensure the safety of fishermen and vessels in the coastal areas. Such rescue and safety activities will continue in the future as well.”
