On Monday (January 6), the Chapainawabganj Battalion (53 BGB) distributed winter clothes among the helpless, poor and cold-stricken people in Kukri Para village of Durlavpur Union of Shibganj Upazila of Chapainawabganj.

Colonel Syed Kamal Hossain, PSC, Sector Commander of BGB Rajshahi Sector, was present as the chief guest at the event.

Lieutenant Colonel Kazi Mustafizur Rahman, PSC, Commander of Chapainawabganj Battalion (53 BGB), was present as the special guest.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has taken this initiative to stand by the poor, helpless and cold-stricken people of the border area as the intensity of the extreme cold has increased this year. The local people have benefited a lot by receiving the winter clothes.

Locals on the border said that poor people, including daily wage laborers, are engaged in various activities in the Chapainawabganj border area, ignoring the cold due to hunger.

Like every year, this year too, such humanitarian initiatives by 53 BGB will play a helpful role in alleviating their suffering.
