Secret weapons factory found in the mountains, bullets and huge equipment recovered in Ramu upazila
The police have found a secret weapons factory built in a deep hill in Ramu upazila of Cox’s Bazar.
A large amount of bullets and equipment for making indigenous weapons have been recovered from there in a joint operation.
On Monday (January 5) morning, a joint operation was conducted under the leadership of the newly appointed officer-in-charge of Ramu police station, Monirul Islam Bhuiyan, along with IC of Garjnia police outpost, Police Inspector Shovan Kumar Saha and IC SI Khorshed Alam of Eidgarh police outpost.
The police conducted a commando-style operation in the hideout of the notorious inter-district dacoit Sardar Nurul Absar’s Prakash gang Absar in Harin Para, Thimchari, Garjnia.
Similarly, an adventurous operation was conducted under the leadership of OC Monirul in the remote hilly area of Abu Ahmed Ghona Fatema Chhara in Eidgarh Union.
Ramu Police Station Officer-in-Charge, Police Inspector Monirul Islam Bhuiyan said that he learned from reliable sources that some people were illegally making weapons in Eidgarh.
After such news, an operation was conducted under the direction of Cox’s Bazar Police Superintendent A.N.M. Sajedur Rahman and under the supervision of Ramu Police Station Officer-in-Charge Monirul Islam Bhuiyan.
During the operation, the police recovered 2 live rifle bullets, 4 empty shotgun shells, 2 gun butts, 3 gun trigger boxes, 6 pipes used as gun barrels, and various weapons-making equipment and tools from the scene.
In addition, numerous tools used to make indigenous weapons, including wind machines, grinding machines, saws, hammers, pliers, and reeds, were seized. Police said that 3 to 4 people fled the scene after sensing the presence of the police. No one has been arrested in the incident so far.
Cox’s Bazar District Additional Superintendent of Police (DSB) Alok Biswas said that the recovered evidence has been properly seized and listed. The operation is ongoing to identify and arrest those involved in the incident.
Necessary legal action is being taken in this regard, said Cox’s Bazar District Police Media Focal Point and Additional Superintendent of Police Alok Biswas.
Ramu’s informed circles say that the law and order situation has improved a lot since Police Inspector Monirul Islam Bhuiyan joined Ramu Police Station.
Ramu Police Station has improved law and order due to its special role in maintaining law and order, including arresting the godfather of a smuggling gang, arresting notorious terrorists, preventing smuggling, and arresting warranted suspects.
In this way, due to the adventurous operation to arrest criminals to maintain law and order, terrorists are fleeing outside Ramu.
