Prayer mahfil for the soul of Begum Khaleda Zia in Kalmakanda
A Quran recitation and prayer mahfil were held in Kalmakanda to pray for the soul of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
The prayer mahfil was organized at the Kharnai Union Parishad ground in Kalmakanda Upazila on Monday afternoon.
Barrister Kaiser Kamal, Legal Affairs Secretary of the Central Committee of the BNP-nominated MP candidate from Durgapur-Kalmakanda Upazila, was present as the chief guest at the mahfil.
Among the guests were Upazila BNP President MA Quader, General Secretary Md. Saidur Rahman Bhuiyan, Joint General Secretary and Chairman of Kharnoi Union Parishad Md. Obaidul Haque, Chairman of Rang Chhati Union Parishad A Md. Anisur Rahman Babul, Organizing Secretary Nazim Ahmed, Upazila Jubo Dal President Md. Zahirul Islam, General Secretary Soleman Haque, and leaders of various organizations, regardless of the party affiliation of the upazila, including madrasa imams, students, and leaders of various organizations.
The prayer mahfil prayed for the eternal peace of national leader Begum Khaleda Zia and remembered her contribution to her long political life.
At the same time, Maulana Abdur Rahim offered a special prayer for the peace, prosperity, and restoration of democracy in the country and the nation.
The speakers at the discussion meeting said that Begum Khaleda Zia is an unforgettable name in the democratic movement of Bangladesh.
Starting from the anti-dictatorship movement to establishing democracy and people’s right to vote, her role will be remembered forever in history.
They said that the ideals and political struggle of the national leader will be an inspiration for the new generation.
At the end of the program, special prayers and prayers were conducted for the forgiveness of the deceased’s soul.
The teachers participating in the prayer mahfil paid tribute to the memory of the national leader with deep respect and sorrow.
