Mobile court to stop use of banned hydraulic horns

The Bandarban Sadar Upazila administration has run a mobile court to stop use of banned hydraulic horns to prevent noise pollution. The mobile court was conducted on Sunday (January 4) in collaboration with the Department of Environment,Bandarban District Office.The mobile court was led by Sadar Upazila Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate Mst Marufa Sultana Khan Hiramony.

Md.Rezaul Karim,Assistant Director of the Department of Environment,Bandarban Office,confirmed the matter.at this time,a fine of 8000/-(eight thousand) taka was imposed on the drivers of 02 buses for using hydraulic horns in violation of Rule 8 of the Noise Pollution Control Rules,2006.In addition,03 hydraulic horns were seized.

Mohammad Nur Uddin,Inspector of the Bandarban District Office of the Department of Environment,served as the prosecutor. District police and Ansar members provided assistance in running the mobile court.The Department of Environment,Bandarban District Office informed that noise pollution is a serious environmental problem.

Bandarban Sadar Uno Mst Marufa Sultana Khan Hiramony said that, “the local administration is working intensively to ensure environmental protection and public health protection.Such mobile courts will be operated regularly”.
