Nominations of 22 candidates in three seats in Madaripur declared valid, 5 candidates dropped
The Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner of the 13th National Parliament Election, Md. Jahangir Alam, has declared the nominations of 5 candidates were cancelled of 27 candidates of different parties in three seats of Madaripur in the 13th National Parliament Election.
Saturday was the last day of verification of Madaripur-03 constituency and district. The nominations of 5 candidates were cancelled due to lack of necessary documents and concealment of information. It is known that the cancelled candidates can take legal action if they want to get their nominations back.
According to election office sources, the nominations of two out of 6 candidates in Madaripur-3 constituency have been declared cancelled.
Independent Md. Asaduzzaman and Bangladesh Samajtantrik Dal nominated candidate Aminul Islam. In addition, the returning officer declared the nomination of 4 candidates valid. On Saturday afternoon, the returning officer and Deputy Commissioner Md. Jahangir Alam declared the validity of the candidates at the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
The valid candidates in Madaripur-03 constituency are BNP nominated candidate Anisur Rahman Talukder Khokon, the party’s Kalkini Municipality Ameer Maulana Md. Rafiqul Islam will contest under the Jamaat-e-Islami symbol, Nitai Chakraborty submitted his nomination papers as the Supreme Party candidate, and Azizul Haque became the party candidate of Islami Andolan Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, the nomination of one out of 11 candidates in Madaripur-1 constituency has been declared invalid. In addition, the returning officer declared the nomination of the remaining 10 people valid. The candidate who was declared invalid is independent candidate Imran Hasan.
The candidates who were declared valid are BNP nominated candidate Nadira Akhter Mithu Chowdhury, Jamaat-e-Islami’s party candidate H. Md. Sarwar Hossain, Bangladesh Communist Party candidate Abdul Ali, Jatiya Party’s Muhammad Zahirul Islam Mintu, Khelafat Majlis nominated candidate Sayed Ubin Ahmad Hanzala, Islami Andolan Bangladesh candidate Maulana Akram Husain, Gana Odhikar Parishad’s Rajib Molla, Bangladesh Labor Party candidate Md. Hadizur Rahman, rebel candidate District BNP joint convener Sajjad Hossain Siddique Lablu, Shibchar Upazila BNP member Kamal Zaman Nuruddin Molla.
In addition, the nominations of two out of 10 candidates in Madaripur-2 constituency were declared invalid. Tara Hall’s independent candidate Kamrul Islam Sayeed Ansari and another independent candidate Reazul Islam. In addition, the returning officer declared the nominations of the remaining 8 people valid.
The candidates declared valid are BNP nominated candidate Jahandar Ali Mia, Islami Andolan Bangladesh candidate Maulana Ali Ahmed Chowdhury, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis candidate Maulana Abdus Sobahan, Jatiya Party candidate Md. Mohidul Islam Muhid Howlader, Bangladesh Samajtantrik Dal BSD (Marxist) candidate Md. Didar Hossain, Kalyan Party candidate Subal Chandra Majumder, independent candidates Milton Baidya and Shahidul Islam Khan. Incidentally, Madaripur-1 constituency consists of Shibchar Upazila.
Shibchar Municipality and 18 unions have a total of 3 lakh 21 thousand 133 voters. Out of these, 1 lakh 67 thousand 187 are male voters. There are 1 lakh 53 thousand 944 female voters.
In addition, there are 2 Hija voters. There are a total of 102 polling stations in this constituency, which is bordered by the Padma River and the Arial Kha River.
Madaripur-2 constituency consists of 10 unions, 1 municipality of Madaripur Sadar and 11 unions and 1 municipality of Rajoir Upazila. There are a total of 4 lakh 31 thousand 484 voters here. Out of these, there are 2 lakh 20 thousand 795 male voters. There are 2 lakh 10 thousand 681 female voters.
In addition, there are 8 Hija voters. There are a total of 145 polling stations in this constituency, which is bordered by the Arial Kha and Kumar Rivers.
Out of these, there are 78 polling stations in Sadar Upazila and 67 polling stations in Rajoir Upazila.
In addition, Madaripur-3 constituency is formed by 10 unions of Kalkini upazila of Madaripur, one municipality, 5 unions of Dasar upazila and 5 unions of Madaripur Sadar upazila. Voters are 3 lakh 82 thousand 965. Of these, 1 lakh 99 thousand 730 are male voters.
There are 1 lakh 83 thousand 233 female voters. In addition, there are 2 Hijra voters. There are a total of 134 polling stations in this constituency, which includes Kumar and Arial Kha rivers. Of these, 37 are in Sadar upazila, 72 in Kalkini upazila and 25 in Dasar upazila.
