Drug dealer arrested with huge quantity of Yaba in Ramu
A drug dealer has been arrested with 1 thousand 800 pieces of Yaba tablets in a police operation in Ramu, Cox’s Bazar.
According to Ramu Police Station sources, on Friday (January 2, 2026), on the orders of Ramu Police Station OC Monirul Islam Bhuiyan, SI Nixon Chowdhury along with his force set up a check post on the Link Road to Ukhia Regional Highway on the east side of Kathir Matha Bridge in Dakshin Mithachari Union while performing mobile duty in the police station area. At this time, a suspect named Nurul Amin (40) was arrested and searched.
During the search, 9 polyzipper packets were recovered inside a potlar hidden in a special way with his feet. A total of 1 thousand 800 pieces of Yaba tablets, 200 pieces in each packet, were found.
The arrested Nurul Amin is the son of the late Surut Alam and the late Jamila Khatun of Purba Satghariapara area of Hoaikyong Union of Teknaf Police Station.
The police seized the Yaba tablets and arrested the accused and took them into their custody.
A case has been registered at Ramu Police Station under Section 36 (1) of Table 10 (a) of the Narcotics Control Act, 2018 in this incident. Case number 5/5, date 2 January 2026.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ramu Police Station Monirul Islam Bhuiyan said that such operations will continue as part of the ongoing campaign against drugs.
