The police of Ramu police station in Cox’s Bazar have recovered 80 liters of locally made Cholai Mad in a special anti-drug operation.

A drug dealer has been arrested during this time.
According to police sources, on Wednesday (December 31, 2025), based on secret information, an operation was conducted with the help of officers and forces led by Ramu Police Station SI Nixon Chowdhury.
During the operation, some people tried to escape after sensing the presence of the police on the Marichya-Ramu paved road in the Pine Bagan Dalarmukh area of ​​Ward No. 1 of Khuniapalong Union under Ramu Police Station.
During the chase and action of the police, a person named Md. Shukkur (30) was arrested.

He was a permanent resident of Chowankhali area of ​​Ukhia police station and was currently living in Thoayingakata area of ​​Khuniapalong union.
Later, two plastic bags carrying bamboo poles on the shoulders of the arrested person were searched and a total of 80 liters of locally made Cholai Mad stored in four polythenes were recovered.
Each polythene bag contained 20 liters of alcohol.

The recovered drugs were seized and the accused was arrested and brought to the police station.

The police said that the process of filing a case under the relevant law in this incident is underway.
