8 candidates, including BNP rebel candidate, submit nomination papers for Brahmanbaria-5 (Nabinagar) constituen

A total of 8 candidates, including BNP rebel candidates, have submitted their nomination papers for the upcoming national elections in Brahmanbaria-5 (Nabinagar) parliamentary constituency.

These nomination papers were submitted to Assistant Returning Officer and Upazila Executive Officer Mahmudul Hasan at the Nabinagar Upazila Parishad office on Monday (December 29) afternoon.

Independent candidate Nazmul Hossain Taposh submitted his nomination papers as a BNP rebel candidate with a large convoy, but no procession was taken out.

In addition, BNP nominated candidate Advocate Abdul MA Mannan submitted his nomination papers following the code of conduct.

For security reasons, only a small number of people were allowed to enter the Upazila Parishad gate.

Other candidates include Mohammad Shahin Khan (Bangladesh Communist Party), Md. Kamrul Islam (Jatiyo Party), Nahida Jahan (Gana Sanghati Andolan).

In addition, three candidates submitted their nomination papers from the 11-party Islamic Alliance. They are Mohammad Abdul Baten (Jamaat-e-Islami), Amjad Hossain Ashrafi (Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish), Mohammad Nazrul Islam Naju (Islami Andolan Bangladesh).

Nabinagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, Upazila Election Officer Swapan Kumar Bhowmik and other election-related officials were present during the submission of nomination papers.
