The Silver Jubilee of the Chapainawabganj branch of the Bangladesh Blind Welfare Association was celebrated on Saturday with various programs, including a colorful rally and an discussion meeting.

At 10:00 am, the national flag and the association’s flag were hoisted at the association’s office premises in Baligram of the district town, accompanied by the national anthem. Later, a festive rally was taken out by releasing balloons. The rally started from the association premises, paraded through Shantimoor, and returned to the same venue, where it concluded with a discussion meeting.

The event was presided over by Mohammad Nazrul Islam, Chairman of the district branch of the association. The chief guest was Md. Mahbub Alam, Additional Secretary of the Health, Education and Family Welfare Division of the Ministry of Health. Special guests included Sabbir Ahmed, Assistant Private Secretary to the Chief Adviser of the interim government and Civil Surgeon Dr. A.K.M. Shahab Uddin.

Others present at the program included Md. Nurul Islam, President of the Chapainawabganj District Association in Dhaka and Chief Engineer of RAJUK; former Member of Parliament from Chapainawabganj Sadar constituency Md. Latifur Rahman; Vice Chairman of the association Engineer Sadikul Islam; Convener of the celebration committee Mostafizur Rahman Mukul and Office Secretary of the Chapainawabganj District Association in Dhaka Syed Nazmul Islam Manik among others.

The welcome speech was delivered by the association’s General Secretary Md. Abdul Hakim.
