After returning to the country after a long exile, Acting Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Tarique Rahman was met by Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain in a courtesy call.

During the meeting at the VIP lounge of Shahjal Airport on Thursday, Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain greeted the Acting Chairman with flowers and wished him good health and longevity. In this very cordial meeting, they briefly discussed the current political situation in the country and the developmental activities of Chittagong.

Mayor Shahadat Hossain said, “The heroic return of patriot Tarique Rahman was a long-awaited desire of the people of Bangladesh. Under his strong leadership, the movement to rebuild the country and restore democracy has reached a new level. On behalf of the people of Chittagong, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to him.”

During the meeting, Tarique Rahman inquired about the current activities of the Chittagong City Corporation and provided the necessary guidance to the Mayor to develop Chittagong as a modern, clean and livable city. He urged the CHC Mayor to continue working with honesty and dedication in serving the people.
