A theft has taken place at the Amuchia Union Land Office in Boalkhali Upazila of Chittagong. A group of thieves broke into the office room and stole a monitor, a desktop computer hard disk and a CCTV camera digital video recorder (DVR).
The officers and employees came to know about the theft after coming to the office on Wednesday (December 24) morning.
Amuchia Union Land Assistant Officer Ranjan Kumar Deb said that the office was closed and the room was locked as per the rules on Tuesday afternoon.
When the office was opened on Wednesday morning, the ventilator was found broken and the documents were seen scattered.
Later, it was verified that a monitor, a desktop hard disk and a CCTV camera DVR were stolen. However, no important documents of the office were lost.
In this regard, Boalkhali Assistant Commissioner (Land) Kaniz Fatema said that she visited the scene after receiving the news. The process of taking legal action in this incident is underway.
