Tarique Rahman’s return to home will be considered a milestone in the country’s politics – Zahir Uddin Swapan
BRP Chairperson’s Advisor and BNP’s party-nominated candidate for Barishal-1 constituency, Zahir Uddin Swapan, has said that national hero Tarique Rahman is relentlessly leading the movement to restore democracy in the country and return the people’s voting rights. His return to home will be considered a historical milestone in the country’s politics.
Party leaders and activists will have to work together in the field to make the December 25 program peaceful and successful.
He said this while addressing the chief guest at the preparatory meeting organized by Gournadi-Agailjhara Upazila BNP and its associate organizations on Monday afternoon to mark the return of national hero Tarique Rahman.
The preparatory meeting organized at the Government Gournadi College Mosque ground premises was presided over by Upazila BNP convener Md. Sarwar Alam Biplob, and leaders of Gournadi and Agailjhar spoke.
Leaders and activists of various levels of BNP and its affiliates and associate organizations were present at the preparatory meeting.
The speakers emphasized organizational preparation, increasing public involvement and implementing peaceful programs around the upcoming December 25 program. Finally, prayers were offered for the health of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
Press Club convener Zahurul Islam Zahir presided over the meeting, and panel conveners Gias Uddin Mia and Khondaker Moniruzzaman, among others, spoke.
Among others present at the event were the head of the legal team of the rice sheaf symbol candidate, Advocate Rezaul Firoz Rintu, the chief coordinator of the campaign sub-committee, Rafiqul Islam Kajal, the senior joint convener of the Upazila BNP, Badiuzzaman Mintu, the acting convener of the Municipal BNP, Shafiqur Rahman Sharif Swapan, and former convener Zakir Hossain Sharif.
