Police exchange views on the occasion of Christmas and Thirty-First Night celebrations in Moulvibazar
The District Police Superintendent exchanged views with Christian religious leaders to ensure security during the celebration of Christmas and Thirty-First Night, the biggest festival of Christians in Moulvibazar.
The meeting was presided over by District Police Superintendent Mohammad Billal Hossain at 11 am on Sunday (December 21) in the conference room of the Superintendent’s office.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) Asif Mohiuddin, PPM; Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and) Noble Chakma, PPM, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Abul Khair, and police members of various ranks of the district police.
Representatives of various churches and parishes of all upazilas of Moulvibazar district also participated in the meeting.
The speakers discussed important issues including the overall law and order situation in the district for the upcoming Christmas celebration, the security of churches, various instructions of the Police Headquarters ahead of Christmas, and the installation of CCTV cameras in churches ahead of Christmas, adequate lighting, prevention of rumors through social media, and recruitment of volunteers.
At the time, the Superintendent of Police said, ‘There is nothing bigger than religion. Everyone has the right to practice their own religion.
If any group tries to create obstacles in the celebration of any religious festival, strict legal action will be taken against them.’
