With the theme “We will take our skills abroad, build our homeland with remittances”, International Migrants Day and National Expatriates Day were celebrated in Sariakandi, Bogura.

On the occasion of the day, a colorful rally was taken out on Thursday (December 18) morning by the upazila administration.

The rally started from the upazila premises, circled the main roads in the city and ended at the starting point.

After the rally, a discussion meeting was held in the Upazila Parishad meeting room. Upazila Nirbahi Sumaiya Ferdous presided over the meeting.

He said that both expatriates and immigrants are important for the country and they are playing an important role in the economy as remittance warriors.
Present at the event were Upazila Election Officer Ahsan Habib, Social Service Officer Abdul Alim, LGED Engineer Tuhin Sarkar, Project Officer Rashedul Islam, Poverty Alleviation Officer Nazrul Islam, etc.

Also present were officials from various upazila departments and local journalists.
