RAB-15 has arrested two accused in separate operations in two high-profile murder cases in Cox’s Bazar’s Maheshkhali and Teknaf.
In these operations conducted in the capital Dhaka and Teknaf, the long-absconding murder planners and warranted accused were arrested.
RAB said that these operations were conducted with the help of information technology and based on intelligence surveillance.
In a joint operation by RAB-15 and RAB-3, the planner and accused number 3 of the controversial Md. Sher Ali murder case in Sapmara Dale area under Maheshkhali police station in Cox’s Bazar district, Azizur Rahman (24) has been arrested.
He was arrested from the Matsya Bhaban intersection area under the Ramna police station of the capital on December 17.
According to RAB sources, due to a land dispute and previous enmity, Md. Sher Ali was attacked with a country-made weapon on the afternoon of November 26, 2025, while returning home after Asr prayers.
He was first taken to the Maheshkhali Upazila Health Complex and later to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital in serious condition, where he died on December 2 while undergoing treatment.
The victim’s son filed a murder case with the Maheshkhali police station as the plaintiff in the incident.
Later, RAB started a shadow investigation. During the arrest, a smart mobile phone, ATM card, NID card and Tk 4,130 in cash were recovered from Azizur Rahman. He has been handed over to the DMP’s Khilgaon police station for further legal proceedings.

On the other hand, RAB-15 has arrested Mohammad Riduan (28), one of the accused in the murder case of Nurul Haque alias Bhutto (35) in Moulvipara, Sadar Union under Teknaf Model Police Station, and a warranted accused in several cases.
He was arrested in a drive in the Moulvipara area of ​​Teknaf on December 17. RAB said that Nurul Haque was hacked to death with a sharp weapon on the evening of May 15, 2022, focusing on establishing dominance in the area.
After being taken to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital in a seriously injured condition, the doctor on duty declared him dead.
In this incident, the deceased’s brother filed a murder case with Teknaf Model Police Station as a complainant. Mohammad Riduan came under RAB’s surveillance after being absconding for a long time.
RAB said that there are several cases against him, including a murder case.
The arrested accused has been handed over to Teknaf Model Police Station for further legal action.
RAB-15 said that intelligence activities and operations will continue to arrest the accused of sensational crimes.
