Great Victory Day is celebrated with humble respect for the brave freedom fighters, the best sons of the nation, and with a bright commitment to build a prosperous Bangladesh with love. On this occasion, the Victory Day program began with 31 gun salutes in the morning.

At sunrise, the district administration led by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Saifur Rahman, the police administration led by Superintendent of Police Md. Tariqul Islam, the district BNP president led by eminent orthopedic physician Professor Dr. Md. Anwarul Haque, the district BNP, the district Muktijoddha Sangsad convener led by former district BNP president Bir Muktijoddha Ashraf Uddin Khan, the Muktijoddha Sangsad convener Bir Muktijoddha Haider Jahan Chowdhury, the district Jatiyatabadi Muktijoddha Dal the municipal administration led by Deputy Director of the Local Government Department and Municipal Administrator Mohammad Ariful Islam Sardar, the upazila administration led by Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Asma Binte Rafiq, the district press club secretary Mahbubul Kibria Chowdhury Helim, and various political, social, and cultural organizations and various educational institutions paid tribute by placing flowers.
At 8 am, the district administration took the initiative to officially hoist the national flag, play the national anthem, hold a rally of students, parade and display beautiful displays at the local stadium. At 10:30 am, the three-day victory fair was inaugurated in the open courtyard of the old Collectorate building. At 11 am, the brave freedom fighters were felicitated at the local public hall, after Zohar, special prayers and supplications were offered at various mosques, temples, churches and pagodas seeking forgiveness for the departed souls of the freedom fighters, at 2 pm, high-quality farms were distributed to hospitals, jails, orphanages and government children’s families. In the afternoon, a friendly football match was held at the Moktarpara field, free performances for children were held at the Kiddi Kingdom Park and in the evening, lighting was done at government and private buildings.
