December 16, 1971, is an unforgettable and glorious day in the history of the Bengali nation. On this day, after a long nine-month bloody liberation war, our desired victory was achieved through the unconditional surrender of the invading forces at the historic Race Course Maidan (present Suhrawardy Udyan) in Dhaka. Independent sovereign Bangladesh proudly took its place on the world map, and the red-green victory flag was hoisted.

On the 55th morning of the great Victory Day, the Honorable Superintendent of Police of Bandarban Hill District, Mr. Md. Abdur Rahman, remembered this greatest achievement of the nation with deep respect and gratitude by placing a wreath at the Martyred Freedom Fighters’ Memorial in Bandarban district and paid humble tribute to the brave martyred freedom fighters. Other senior police officers of Bandarban Hill District were present with him at the time.

The sacrifice and self-sacrifice of the brave martyrs are eternally memorable. Inspired by their ideals, the Bandarban District Police will always be engaged in the service of the country and the people.
