Food distribution among foot-drawn rickshaw drivers in Madaripur
Food items have been distributed among foot-drawn rickshaw drivers in Madaripur. This distribution program was held at the Nakshi Kathar office in Shakuni area No. 2 of Madaripur city on Monday (December 15).
This program was organized with the financial contribution of Italian expatriate Md. Imran Munshi, founder of Dream Green Bangladesh. Foot-drawn rickshaws are almost extinct in Madaripur.
Only a few people make a living by driving these rickshaws. It is very difficult for them to run their families with the money they earn throughout the day.
Therefore, thinking about their hardship, five rickshaw drivers were bought rice, pulses, oil, salt, potatoes, onions and other food items.
After receiving the food, rickshaw drivers Md. Nazlur Islam, Maqbul Bepari, Md. Salam. Jalal Uddin Khandkar and Kanai are very happy.
Rickshaw driver Jalal Uddin Khandkar said, it is very difficult to run a family with the money I earn by pulling a rickshaw on foot.
Because now everyone rides in battery-powered rickshaws. No one wants to ride in our rickshaws. So getting these meals has benefited us a lot.
