Closing ceremony and certificate distribution of a three-day mental counselling training programme was held at the Chattogram District Civil Surgeon’s Office.

Training  workshop was organised by Human Rights Development Center (HRDC) with financial support from the Government of Denmark. The programme focused on basic counselling for traumatised individuals affected during the July incidents and was attended by students and volunteers.

Training sessions were conducted by Zianur Kabir, Director of HRDC and a Clinical Psychologist.

Following the completion of the training, participants including Tazrin Jahan Proma, injured July fighter Mohammad Tajimuddin, and injured July fighter Md Farhad Hossain shared their experiences and reflections.

The closing ceremony was held on Monday (December 15) with Zianur Kabir, Director of HRDC and Clinical Psychologist, presiding over the event. Dr Jahangir Alam, Civil Surgeon of Chattogram, attended the programme as the chief guest.

In his speech, the chief guest said, “Trained counsellors play a vital role in the mental rehabilitation of people affected by trauma.”

The programme was moderated by Psychologist Mohini Sangita Singh. Other attendees included psychologists Sanjida Nasrin, Humaira Akter, Sharmin Sultana Eni, along with trainers and trainees from various levels.

At the end of the programme, certificates were distributed among the participants.
