Martyr Intellectuals Day was celebrated with due dignity in Sariakandi, Bogura. On Sunday (December 14), the Upazila administration organized a wreath-laying ceremony and lighting candles at the Shaheed Minar at the Sariakandi Public Library and Club ground at 4 pm on behalf of the Upazila administration, freedom fighters, police administration, municipality and various departments, thus celebrating the day with due dignity and deep respect for the martyred intellectuals.
Later, a special prayer was offered to pray for the forgiveness of the souls of all the martyrs of the great war of independence in 1971. Present at the event were Upazila Executive Officer Sumaiya Ferdous, Animal Resources Officer Dr. Mir Kawsar Hossain, Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) A.F.M. Asaduzzaman, freedom fighter Jamirul Islam, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Rashedul Islam, Upazila Engineer Tuhin Sarkar, Youth Development Officer Abdus Sabur Sarkar, Social Service Officer Abdul Alim, Education Officer Mahtabur Rahman, Public Health Officer Nuni Gopal Singha, BRDB Officer Razzaqul Haider, Municipal Engineer Shahidul Islam, Fire Station Master Sujan Mia and officers and employees of various departments.
