In Kumarkhali, Kushtia, the distribution of free seeds and chemical fertilizers among small and marginal farmers under the incentive program was inaugurated in order to increase the production of Ubashi and hybrid Borodhan in the fiscal year 2025-26.
On this occasion, at 11 am on December 11, at the Upazila Parishad premises, organized by the Department of Agricultural Extension, Kumarkhali, Kushtia, the distribution of seeds and fertilizers was inaugurated by Kumarkhali Upazila Nirbahi Officer Farjana Aktar under the chairmanship of Upazila Agriculture Officer, Agriculturist Md. Raisul Islam.
Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Mahmudul Hasan, Animal Resources Officer Alamgir Hossain, Agricultural Extension Officer Md. Kausar Ali, Assistant and Deputy Assistant Officers of Kumarkhali Upazila Agriculture Office, beneficiary farmers, journalists of print and electronic media and well-wishers were present at the time.
This time, 420 farmers were provided with 5 kg of high-yielding rice seeds, 10 kg of MOP fertilizer and 10 kg of DAP fertilizer, and 300 farmers were provided with 2 kg of hybrid rice seeds. Kumarkhali Upazila Agriculture Officer Krishibid Md. Raisul Islam confirmed this information.
