Boro Seed, Fertilizer Distribution Launched in Nakla
The free distribution of Boro paddy seeds and chemical fertilizers among small and marginal farmers under the agricultural incentive program for the 2025-26 fiscal year was inaugurated on Wednesday noon in Nakla upazila of Sherpur district.
With the aim of boosting the cultivation and production of Ufshi and hybrid Boro varieties, the program was launched in front of the Upazila Parishad Complex. The Upazila Administration and the Upazila Agriculture Office jointly organized the event.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Jahangir Alam inaugurated the distribution program as the chief guest. Upazila Agriculture Officer (UAO) Agriculturist Shahriar Morsalin Mehedi presided over the event and delivered the welcome address.
Upazila Livestock Officer Dr Md Nazrul Islam, Additional Agriculture Officer (AAO) Agriculturist Tabassum Mokbula Disha, Agriculture Extension Officer (AEO) Agriculturist Sagar Chandra Dey and Agriculturist Fariha Yasmin, Upazila Rural Development Officer (URDO) Habibur Rahman, Sub-Assistant Agriculture Officers (SAAO) from different blocks, officials from various departments of the upazila, journalists from different media and beneficiary farmers from the upazila were present at the event.
UAO Agriculturist Shahriar Morsalin Mehedi said that a total of 3,200 farmers will receive incentives this Boro season. Of them, 400 farmers will each receive 5 kg of Ufshi seed, 10 kg of Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) and 10 kg of Muriate of Potash (MoP) fertilizer, while 2,800 farmers will each receive 2 kg of hybrid variety of Boro seed.
