A discussion meeting on the role of the media in establishing good governance and preventing rumors was held with the participation of media workers.Bandarban Deputy Commissioner Shamim Ara Rini was present as the chief guest at the meeting organized at the Sadar Upazila Parishad conference room on Wednesday (December 10).The program was presided over by Md.Saeed Hasan,Deputy Chief Information Officer of the Regional Information Office (PID) Chittagong.

Additional Superintendent of Police Manna Dey,Senior Information Officer of Chittagong Regional Information Office (PID) Bappi Chakraborty,District Information Officer Md.Anwar Hossain, President of District Corruption Prevention Committee Aung Cha Mong and others were present at the event.Journalists from various print and electronic media were present at the meeting and presented their own opinions on preventing rumors.

The speakers at the meeting said that the importance of providing objective news in establishing good governance and the role of the media in preventing rumors are very important.The role of the media is one of the most important in the overall development of a country.The media can play the biggest role in preventing rumors in the country.

Therefore,media workers must come forward in this regard.There is no alternative to objective news in establishing good governance.Media organizations, including media workers,must continue to work impartially to ensure good governance in the country.At this time,media workers were called upon to play a responsible role in preventing rumors.The Bandarban District Information Office cooperated in the exchange of views organized by the Regional Information Office (PID) Chittagong.
