Awareness Activities Held in Chapainawabganj to Prevent Violence Against Women
As part of the 16-day campaign titled “Activism 2025 to End Violence Against Women,” various awareness activities— including discussion meetings, rallies, and the installation of pledge boards against digital violence—were held across four communities in Chapainawabganj: Atahar, Jhilim, Shahjahanpur and Gobratala. The program was organized on Wednesday by the Chapainawabganj Area Program of Food for the Hungry Bangladesh. A total of 800 participants from the four communities took part, including local residents, public representatives, teachers, and community leaders.
Chapainawabganj Area Program Manager Repon Kisko, who was present at the discussion event, said: “Every individual can play an important role in preventing violence in society from their own position. With unity, we can reduce violence against women and build a safer community.”
During the rally and pledge-board activities, participants committed themselves to responsible behavior both online and offline, especially in preventing digital violence. Organizers stated that the initiative has helped strengthen awareness in the four communities regarding the prevention of violence against women.
