Allegations of forcibly occupying farmer’s land and constructing a boundary wall in Sreepur
In Sreepur, Gazipur, an allegation has been made against opponent Jahangir Molla and his associates for forcibly occupying the land of two expatriate sons of farmer Abul Hossain and constructing a boundary wall around the land.
For obstructing the land, the opponent’s people beat the farmer and molested the women. On Tuesday (December 9) afternoon, the aggrieved farmer filed a written complaint with the Sreepur police station against 40 unidentified people, including four names.
Earlier, on Saturday (December 6) at around 8 am, an incident of land grabbing took place in the Bhangnahati (Pashchimpara) area of Sreepur Municipality.
At that time, more than a hundred people hired by the accused surrounded the land with country-made weapons and sticks and created panic.
The hired people prevented the real owners of the land from entering the land by intimidating them.
The accused are Jahangir Molla (42), son of Innas Ali, of the same area, Mamun (41), son of Abdus Salam, Shanto (27), son of Humayun Kabir, and Shuvo (28), son of Abu Hanifa.
Farmer Abul Hossain said that as the owner through ancestral lineage, he sold 15 gandas of land to his two sons Sumon and Sujan under Sreepur, S.A.- 870, Khatian No. S. A- 1812, RS- 7109, 7111, 7123, 1815, 4665, to his two sons Suman and Sujan. Currently, his two sons are expatriates in Oman and Saudi Arabia.
The accused have been making various threats and attempts to forcibly occupy the land on the west side of his house that is occupied by his two sons.
On Saturday (December 6) at around 8 am, the accused made hundreds of their hired unknown people stand near the land with country-made weapons and sticks. Later, they built a boundary wall around the land and took possession of the land.
At that time, when the accused entered the land through an illegal assembly and prevented the construction of the boundary wall, they abused them in foul language. At one point, they beat and injured them. At that time, Jahangir Molla tried to kill his nephew by strangling him.
Hearing the screams, his wife Abeda Khatun (50) came forward from the house, the other accused pulled Abeda Khatun by the hair, beat her and dragged her and sexually assaulted her.
When the attackers threatened them with country-made weapons and threatened to shoot them to death, the women including her ran home in fear.
The accused threatened to kill me and my family members at any time, leave the bodies lying on the ground, and harass me by filing false cases.
When contacted on mobile phone, accused Jahangir Molla said that he contacted Abul Hossain about the land grab. He hung up the phone saying that he did not want to say anything about this.
Sreepur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nasir Ahmed said that he received a written complaint alleging that the land was forcibly grabbed and a boundary wall was built around the land. Necessary legal action will be taken after investigation.
