International Anti-Corruption Day celebrated in Gopalganj
Like the rest of the country, International Anti-Corruption Day-2025 was celebrated in Gopalganj with various arrangements.
The Gopalganj District Administration, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and District Corruption Prevention Committee jointly celebrated the day.
Keeping in mind the theme of “Unity of Youth against Corruption, Building the Purity of the Future” — on Tuesday (December 9) morning, the day was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Md. Arif-uz-Zaman by hoisting the national flag and releasing colorful balloons at the Sushasan Chattar in front of the Gopalganj District Commissioner’s office.
After the inauguration, a colorful procession was taken out with the spontaneous participation of people from all classes and professions under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner.
After that, officials and employees of various government departments of the district stood on the Gopalganj-Tungipara road in front of the district administration building to prevent corruption and formed a human chain.
After the human chain, a discussion meeting was held in the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room “Swachhta”.
Deputy Commissioner Md. Arif-Uz-Zaman delivered a valuable speech as the chief guest in the meeting.
The discussion meeting was chaired by Deputy Director of the District Anti-Corruption Commission Ramprasad Mandal, and the special guests were District Superintendent of Police Md. Habibullah, President of the District Corruption Prevention Committee Professor Sardar Nurul Islam, and General Secretary Mizanur Rahman Manik.
Officers and employees of various government departments also spoke in the discussion meeting.
At this time, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) SM Tarek Sultan, Gopalganj District Civil (Surgeon) Dr. Abu Sayeed Md. Faruk, Deputy Director of the Gopalganj District Agricultural Extension Department Dr. Md. Mamunur Rahman, District Fisheries Officer Bijan Kumar Nandi, and Superintendent of the Gopalganj 250-bed General Hospital Dr. Jeebitesh Biswas Officials and employees of various government and private departments, as well as teachers and students of educational institutions were present. At this time, the speakers said, we all need to be aware of the prevention of corruption. If we are aware, it will be possible to eradicate corruption from the country forever.
