Annual Milad, Prayer Gathering and Islamic Cultural Evening Held at Cox’s Bazar Government College
South Chattogram’s leading educational institution, Cox’s Bazar Government College, hosted its Annual Milad, Prayer Gathering and Islamic Cultural Evening on Monday (8 December) from 10 AM.
The event was graced by the college’s honorable Principal, Professor Mohang Amirul Anwar Chowdhury, as the Chief Guest. It was presided over by Abul Monsur, Head of the Department of Political Science and Convener of the Milad and Prayer Committee.
From the morning, students gathered on the campus, creating a festive atmosphere. The program began with the recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the presentation of Hamds, Na’at-e-Rasul, Islamic songs, and other religious performances by students.
The event received active support from various student organizations of the campus, including the Cox’s Bazar Government College Islami Chhatra Shibir Unit, Chhatra Dal, Chhatra Shakti, and other active student groups.
In the evening, a captivating stage drama titled “Capturing the Essence of July” was performed. The program became even more vibrant with soulful Qawwali, Nasheed, and patriotic songs.
Chief Guest Professor Amirul Anwar Chowdhury said, “This Seerat Evening is truly inspiring for the students. When the proposal came from the student organizations, I welcomed it and formed a committee to implement it. From the beginning, the active student leaders of the campus played a vital role in making this event successful.”
He added that such events open new experiences and positive inspiration for students.
Event President Abul Monsur said, “I am honored to have conducted this program under the guidance of the Principal.”
Among those present were Islami Chhatra Shibir President Mohammad Ayub Ansari, General Secretary Mohammad Jasim Uddin, former General Secretary Abdullah Noman, College Chhatra Dal leader Minhaj, and representatives of various student organizations.
Speaking to Daily Morning Glory, the Shibir President said, “We are committed to organizing student-friendly programs. Our support and cooperation will always continue.”
The General Secretary added, “This program was discontinued for nearly six years. It was last held in 2019. We are proud to be part of such an important event again.”
A student told Daily Morning Glory, “In over three years since admission, this is the first time I witnessed such a wonderful event. Thanks to everyone involved.”
The program was conducted by Moin Uddin Rakib, a meritorious student of the Economics Department and President of the College Debate Club. At the end of the program, food was distributed among the attending students.
