4 arrested with 25 mobile phones while smuggling to Myanmar in Ramu’s Gorjania
Under the direction and supervision of Ramu Police Station Officer-in-Charge Monirul Islam Bhuiyan and Gorjania Police Outpost (IC), Police Inspector Kumar Saha, the Gorjania Police Outpost conducted a special operation in the Gorjania area and arrested four people with 25 mobile phones while smuggling to Myanmar.
The operation was conducted in the Barabil area on Tuesday (December 09, 2025) at around 2:10 pm.
Gorjania Police Outpost SI (Retd) Md. Jewel Chowdhury conducted the operation with the help of the IC, Police Inspector Shobhan Kumar Saha.
During this time, four people were arrested while smuggling mobile phones across the border to Myanmar in a CNG auto-rickshaw.
The arrested are Md. Zubair (23), father: Zaker Hossain, Abdur Rahim Shakil (21) father: Md. Fazal Karim, Md. Ershad (21) father: Lal Mia, Hridul Das (22), father: deceased Anil Das.
Out of the 25 mobile phones seized, 13 are TECNO, 5 are Infinix, 3 are Honor and 4 are Oppo brand.
Police said that the mobile phones were being taken to the border area for smuggling. I’C and Police Inspector of Gorjania Police Outpost Shobhan Kumar Saha said that the police are conducting regular operations to prevent smuggling in the border area.
The arrested accused and the seized goods have been brought to the police station, and a case is under process regarding the incident.
