Police seize winter clothes and bags while smuggling to Myanmar
Under the direction of Shovan Kumar Saha, the newly appointed in-charge of Gorjania Police Outpost in Ramu Upazila of Cox’s Bazar, the police have seized winter clothes and bags while smuggling to Myanmar.
Early on Monday (December 02, 2025), SI of the outpost Md. Jewel Chowdhury, along with his force, signaled a motorcycle while on night patrol in the Schoolpara area and it stopped.
When asked about the identity of the motorcycle rider, he said that he was Ziabul Haque Selim (18), father-Md. Dulal, village-Godayakata, ward-04, Kachchhpia Union.
Later, the motorcycle was searched and 180 boys’ winter sweaters (hoodies) and 30 women’s vanity bags were recovered from five plastic bags tied to it.
Unable to show valid documents for the goods, he said they were being smuggled to Myanmar for smuggling.
Police have seized the goods and a case is under process, confirmed Shobhan Kumar Saha, in-charge of the Garjnia police outpost.
