Discussion Meeting on ‘Improving the Quality of Business Education’ Held in Chapainawabganj

A discussion meeting titled “Improving the Quality of Business Education” was held in Chapainawabganj. The meeting took place on Tuesday (02 December) at 2:00 PM in the teachers’ auditorium of Nawabganj Government College.
Professor Dr. Syed Md. Mozaharul Islam, Principal of Adina Fazlul Haque Government College, attended the meeting as the chief guest. The meeting was presided over by Md. Aminul Islam, Vice Principal of Nawabganj Government College.
Special guests present were: Professor Biplob Kumar Majumder, Principal of Chapainawabganj Government Women’s College; Md. Omar Faruk, Principal of Chapainawabganj Polytechnic Institute; Abul Bashar, Principal of Ranihati College; Tariqul Alam Siddiqui, Principal of Shah Neamatullah College; Lecturer A. Kader; A. Mukim, Assistant Professor of Shahbajpur Degree College; Bazlul Karim, Lecturer of Shibganj College; Anjira Khatun, Assistant Professor of H.B. Gomastapur Soleman Mia Degree College; Md. Alamgir, Assistant Professor (Finance & Banking) of Kansat Soleman Mia Degree College among others.
Teachers from the business education departments across Chapainawabganj district participated in the meeting.
The event was conducted by Badruzdoza Abdur Rouf, Assistant Professor of Karbala High School & College and convener of the discussion meeting.
Speakers at the meeting highlighted the current shortcomings and challenges of the business education sector and called for several important steps to improve and ensure sustainable development of the department.
They stated that in order to modernize business education and align it with current market demands, schools must introduce bookkeeping as a subject, expand co-curricular activities to enhance student skills, and take initiatives to provide technical education and computer training.
Speakers also mentioned the need to adopt strategies to eliminate students’ fear of Accounting, arrange free private tutoring in Accounting for poor and underprivileged students, build awareness about the importance of business education, and maintain regular communication with the education board and the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education for syllabus improvement.
To ensure overall progress in business education, the speakers further proposed forming development committees at district and upazila levels, organizing job fairs to increase employment opportunities, and implementing career guidance programs to enhance students’ professional preparedness.
